Skip the morning heat and join us for a relaxing 3hr walk in the backstreets of Catania. Your local guide will walk you around her favorite food spots to try the traditional street food, such as the baked cipollina, the horse meatballs, some tasty fish recipes and finally ends with the refreshing granita. This is an off the beaten path walking tour. You will try foods you would hardly find on your own like the super crispy crispellas or the horse meatballs! This is the ideal experience for adventurous travelers who want to discover the local culture and avoid touristy stuff!
The local street food consists of snacks served in deli shops and eaten by hand. You'll get quality and quantity!
NOT ONLY FOOD!
We will also talk about history, traditions and daily habits, discussing both lights and shadows of living in Sicily. We will show you some interesting hidden spots in the city. Take it as a night tasty walk with your Catanese friend. You bring your smile, we'll bring the magic!

Worth it, our tour guide was delightful and engaging, the food information useful, but lot of walking into shady areas of town. Also not enough options to sample good Sicilian wines!

Gisella took us on a fun, tasty, and adventurous (for me) food adventure. Plus she easily made our diverse group a “family” for a few hours. She combined knowledge and humor as she guided us to off the beaten path tasting experiences. The pace was fast enough to keep our interest yet easy enough for this septuagenarian ‘grandpa.’ I had a great time.

My first time in Italy and all I want to do is eat good and drink fine. But where to go? The local Steaty Catania Street food tour was incredibly vast and fulfilling. We got to try arancini the way it was meant to be tasted, horse meatballs I didn’t know could be so delicious, and the creamiest gelato I have ever had. Our local guide Davide did the perfect job of balancing history, context, and humor—nothing forced or contrived. Our one mistake was having a little antipasto beforehand; save room in your belly for all of Catania’s feast.

A good introduction to Catania’s street food, based around stops at five different establishments. The guide, Gisella, was enthusiastic and well-informed, and worked hard to develop the atmosphere of the evening among the group who were quite a cosmopolitan mix. The venues were well spaced out (and the arrangements not always as slick as on other such tours I have been on elsewhere), but offered a good variety of tastings. Being picky, the diversion early in the evening to the Castello Ursino was perhaps a bit superfluous.

This was a wonderful time. We tried a variety of foods and the walk was very easy. We were not rushed that allowed us to enjoy everything. Our guide provided an historical insight to thr foods and Sicily.

I really enjoyed the Sicilian food.
Cipollina, arancino, fried fish and horse meat were simply delicious!
Agata, our guide, was fantastic and passionate about Sicilian food culture!
Highly recommend for anyone who wants to have a real local food experience in Catania.

Agata has to be one of the best Food Tour guides I have come across on my many travels. Her professionalism, personalised attention and knowledge of her great city of Catania was truly memorable. A great asset to this tour operator. This is THE must do food tour of Catania. The food is amazing and delicious and you don’t leave hungry! Thank you for a great experience Agata.

We had a wonderful evening walking the streets with Guiseppe and trying many different foods while also learning all about Catania. Giuseppe was fun, very knowledgeable and just a delight . I gave it four stars only because the group felt the foods ( mostly fried) could have been more varied but we all agreed it was more about the the experience than the food. I would recommend this tour for a things to do in Catania. We had a great time !

Agata took us to so many lovely and unusual eating places, tasted some great food. Very attentive and personalised tour, as it was a small group. Advice - do not eat before the tour, or you cannot do justice to it all!

Our guide Agatha was wonderful, personable, knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions we had. She provided great historical information about both the food and Catania. We were disappointed with the selection of the food items. Although there was a variety of foods most of them were prepared by deep frying.
