With this tour you can visit the one of the most interesting roman archeological site. The ghostly ruins of ancient Pompeii make for one of the world's most engrossing archaeological experiences. Much of the site's value lies in the fact that the town wasn't simply blown away by Vesuvius in AD 79 but buried under a layer of lapilli (burning fragments of pumice stone). The result is a remarkably well-preserved slice of ancient life, where visitors can walk down Roman streets and snoop around millennia-old houses, temples, shops, cafes, amphitheatres and even a brothel.

Our fabulous tour guide brought the ruins to life -- everything from brothels, to ancient Roman fast food, to private residences, to how Pompeii fit into the grand scheme of things as part of the Roman Empire. I left there amazed by all I had seen and by my ability now to visualize what daily life was like there. I highly recommend it!

The reason we selected to drive from Rome to Pompeii was because we thought we would have a driver who wiped talk to us along the way. Our driver was silent even putting in ear buds. She had no desire to talk to us whatsoever, it would’ve been better to take the train to Naples as that is a quick one hour trip. Instead, we took the car which was much longer and boring.
Our tour guide in Pompeii was fabulous!

Loved this tour. We have three kids, and this tour was the highlight of our visit. It was a private tour. Max, our driver, came and picked us up from our hotel at 7:30 AM sharp. He drove us to Pompeii. There, we met our tour guide, Enza, who took my family around Pompeii. She was very knowledgable. It took three hours. We ate lunch there (on our own) and then Max picked us up and drove us back to our hotel. We came back around 4 PM.
