Leaving from Porto, meet your tour guide at 08:30 a.m and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.
After the first stretch of the journey you will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production.
Next enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley (Pinhão) where we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour cruise in the Douro River, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into one of the most unique in the world.
Then, in order to complete this experience, enjoy a traditional lunch in a vineyard of a small-medium producer, finishing with a delicious port wine tasting, at their cellars.
After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

Learning about making port, experiencing unique environments, very good guide.

One suggestion...at last stop, would have benefitted by a few more appetizers. Otherwise, very good trip.

The Duoro Valley was beautiful and the wineries were fabulous. Our guide, Pedro was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, friendly, conversational, and efficient. Cons.. the ride from the city to the Duoro Valley was a little long, and we could have skipped the boat ride.

This is a mixed review and I will try to explain. First of all, the bus ride and the actual winery stops were very nice. The lunch that was served was served was excellent and the setting was fantastic. So why no 5 out of 5? The last stop required an uphill journey consisting of about 10 minutes walk. My own fault for being out of shape, but the trek was a bit much as it was about 1/2 mile of steep zig zag incline. There was a car, but figured that the walk really couldn't be that long as we told 5 min (and didn't thing it would be uphill the whole way). Rain started which no one could fault anyone so after a few minutes that was settled and the winery staff was very apologetic. However, it was POURING rain when leaving. We all huddled outside waiting for a break, but there wasn't one. As a last ditch effort we asked to ride in the car and was told we would have to walk. We were given a small umbrella (not sure who actually brought it) and were asked to walk down as we had to leave. By the time we reached the bottom after several rivers and puddles we were completely soaked, shoes soaked and covered in grit and the bottles of wine had bought had broken through the bag. Not 1 minute after we got on the bus, about 6 other guests along with the 2 guides showed dry and can be as they found a way to take the car down. It's this reason I cannot give the experience 5 stars. Rain is not something that can be controlled, but how the guide team reacted was not exactly the best experience especially if they chose to take a dry ride down the hill and left paying customers to fend for themselves.

Beautiful! The river cruise was delightful: peaceful with beautiful views. Lunch was delicious and the wines- typically a variety of ports- were fabulous.

It was first time for me and my boyfriend visiting Porto. This tour was totally worth it, specially because that day weather was not so great in the city but was so lovely and sunny when we reached Douro, just perfect. Joao was our tour guide, great communication, punctual, safe and comfortable driving, his knowledge about the area, he shared so much valuable information, interesting facts, was a bigbonus. He has an amazing personality and we can tell he loves what he does, genuinely. Great professional. I’m glad we booked this experience, the wines we tried were so good, the first winery, I forgot her name, but the girl that gave us information about the wine we tasted, she was so sweet and knowledgeable. I liked there’s so “pressure” to the customers to buy any products like in some tours I’ve been. Just the right amount of time in each location, and lunch was very good. Was a day well spent!

Beautiful trip to the Douro Valley. If you are looking for a nice day trip to get away from the city and take in the beauty of Portugal, then this trip is well worth your time. Nice, comfortable van ride through the Douro wine valley, with a couple of stops at wineries and lunch included. Hour long boat ride is relaxing and a nice way to get an even closer look at the region. Tour guide Pedro was new, but very passionate and informative about the country and the region. The lesson here is that there is much more to see in Portugal than Porto and Lisbon. Getting away from the normal haunts that 95% of all the tourists seem to visit exposed us to sides of Portgual that we won't forget soon. Highly recommended - and the wine is great too!

This was such a wonderful day tour. Our tour guide Rita was the absolute best! She provided so much information and she had the best personality. Everyone loved her. She even stopped to get a wine opener for me because I couldn’t find one at the wineries.
The Port wine was very good and the lunch was great as well. The river cruise was short but very scenic and beautiful. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Portugal!

We spent yesterday touring the Douro area with the wonderful Andrea. He was a fantastic guide and driver. His Mercedes van was very smooth and clean. The views, the wine, the food and the company made it a day we will remember fondly for a long time. If anyone asks me for a recommendation, I'll point them to this tour, and Andrea every time.
