Join your host Putu in her kitchen for a private, hands-on cooking class. Unlike many other TripAdvisor tours, this is a private experience. You and your host will prepare 2-3 authentic Balinese dishes. As you chop, grind and grill, Putu will teach you about the spices she uses in her family recipes as well as the medicinal qualities of Balinese ingredients.
Putu's kitchen is simple, with only a two-burner cooktop but you will be impressed by the speed and fluidity with which she prepares a complex menu with multiple dishes. You will taste a variety of authentic dishes with potential ones being Putu’s grilled eggplant with tomato, grilled fish with Balinese sambal (chili sauce), a curry dish (either chicken, fish or vegetarian) or perhaps a variety of pepes (foods seasoned with local spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed). You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 1-2 hours before you sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare with your host and her family.

If you have the opportunity to do this class, book it! It was a beautiful experience for my family of four. I loved hearing about the Balinese culture and how everything is basically garden to table.
Not only was the food amazing but it was simple cooking. My six year old partook in everything, from cooking to frying. The 3 year old played and nibbled here and there Putu was very patient with him.
So grateful to have been able to share that moment with her and her family.
The food was phenomenal not like what you get in the city area, highly highly recommend!!!

It was a memorable time!
Since I was traveling with 3-year-old twins, there were many restrictions on my activities. But Putu accepted my family willingly and let her nephew looked after my children while I cooked, so I was able to spend enjoyable time with my husband.
I have tried Balinese cuisine before, and it was nice to be able to experience more authentic Balinese cuisine here. I was able to pack leftovers so I ate a lot until dinner.
Highly recomand for family travellers!

Putu has created a well organised, fun and tasty true Balinese cultural experience.
From the time we arrived until the time we left we felt incredibly welcomed and it was a great insight into how a traditional Balinese home really is.
I would absolutely recommend this cooking class and experience very highly if u want something incredibly authentic.
The food we cooked was divine and we learnt so much.

Putu and family were wonderful. Everything about the evening was perfect. Putu was kind enough to teach us about balinese homes and culture. The food was delicious. The experience was fantastic. Don’t second guess. Book it now and consider yourself lucky to spend an evening with Putu and family!!

This was a beautiful and memorable experience! The meal was delicious and easy to prepare. We learned all about the ingredients we cooked with. We loved being immersed in Balinese culture with our host and highly recommend this activity when you visit Bali

My family and I was welcomed into the home of Putu.
She taught my family and I 5 different dishes and had a great time . This was a true farm to table experience.
Every ingredient we used was from her farm .
We learned what a traditional Balinese house, their culture and recipes
I would definitely recommend this tour with Putu to others

Leah and I had a great time visiting Putu's home and village, her hospitality was amazing, we cooked 5 Balanise dishes, all were really nice. Putu's home and cooking classroom were very neat and tidy, well kept and very hygenic. We are back home after our holiday and ready to cook the new food with the instructions she sent us. Thanks Putu, and good luck with the new villa and pool that is almost ready for you to host overnight guests.

Putu was the absolutely kindest and most welcoming hostess we could have ever asked for! It was incredibly engaging and the food was delicious! Recipes were shared and I can’t wait to attempt them again once we’re home.
We started with a tour of her home then fresh coconuts and fruit from her land. Then had other traditional snacks before learning the way food is prepared. Amazing!! Can’t give it enough stars. Also, there’s tons to do in Ubud before and after the class since it doesn’t take up a full day.
