On our customised Private Tour you'll enjoy a fun and informative tour with an experienced local guide showcasing the iconic Mt Maunganui, gorgeous sandy beaches, affluent homes, then we gradually ascend the central volcanic plateau to Rotorua stopping at a Kiwi farm where you'll be amazed at how this locally economically important plant is grown.
In Rotorua we visit the iconic venue - Whakarewarewa Maori village (incl. a slick 30 minute performance of unique harmonious song/dance by members of the local tribe, a walk through a mystical geothermally active wetland, bubbling hot mudpools and springs and view some iconic geysers) Entry to this venue is included for up to 4 PAX. Extra persons at a wholesale rate of $usd 50 payable on day
Then drive the holiday lakes okareka, tikitapu(blue), Tarawera..stunning photo opportunities abound here, plus we take a quick easy trek into a grove of NZ native forest...tranquil, serene and unique.
Redwoods forest and Okere falls are two more options.

Guides like Kerry are why we opt for private tours rather than the ship’s tour.”s. We had an absolutely wonderful time and would urge everyone to give Arrow Tours and Kerry the opportunity to show you Rotorua. You won’t regret it.

Kerry was a great guide, personable, informative and met all of our needs. He said and made us feel that this was "our day". After a drive through lovely Tauranga, we headed inland to a kiwi farm where we met the owner. This was a very unique experience. We then drove to Rotorua where we stopped to see several sites before reaching the Maori Thermal Village. We enjoyed a 30-minute Maori show and the thermal springs and gobbled meat pies for lunch in the Village. For us, the highlight of the trip was seeing the Green and Blue Lakes in the afternoon and nearby redwood forest. All in all, it was a great day. We couldn't have asked for more.

This was an excellent tour! Great help from Toby in coordinating our cruise dock pickup. Our guide, Kerry, was punctual, provided great insight into the various stops on our tour and made sure we hit all of the stops before the cruise ship buses. There were so many interesting sights it's hard to pick a highlight of the tour. The thermal activity in Rotorua, the geysers and bubbling mud, the Maori dance performance, the redwood forest, the blue and green lakes. Amazing!

Excellent service, and the private tour was a total enjoyment. Driver took us to some local attractions which were beyond our expectations.

Tony was wonderfully passionate about his home and extremely informative. We booked for just 3 of us, although for the same cost we could have had 8 people and it still worked out cheaper than the cruise ship excursion. But the main bonus was not the price, it was the flexibility and relaxed time we had - my mum is disabled so we could spend as little or as much time at each highlight. We had great laughs with Tony along the way - we were 2 poms and an Aussie so the banter was fab. The Māori living village and performance were amazing but the views and stop offs Tony showed us were spectacular. Would thoroughly recommend - you won’t be disappointed. Ask for Tony to be your guide!!

Toby Lerew was a wonderful, honest, and knowledgeable tour guide when we toured Tauranga in December 2022. He was upfront with his fees, and unlike other drivers we’ve had while traveling abroad, he did not attempt to defraud us. He took us to all the sites for the best photograph opportunities, and he provided thorough explanations. He also purchased fresh fruit for us to eat. Thank you, Tony!

We cruised to NZ from Brisbane on the Sea Princess for 2 weeks. Having berthed in Tauranga we wanted to take a tour for our family group of 7. We met Roger Simister from Arrow Tours at the Port and he offered to take us on a day trip. We discussed and agreed on the price and time allowed, so off we set. Roger was a very personable man, a great tour guide and explained all about the areas we visited. Due to the fact we had some small children we finished our day after 5 hours which was excellent for our family group. Thank you Roger for our great day out in Tauranga and Rotorua and best wishes for the coming New Year.
