Ancient Appian Way e-bike Tour crosses the famous Parco dell’Appia Antica, an important biological corridor in Rome city centre, in a unique environment, in which an evocative nature frames this tour with a lot of history, culture, and art. This itinerary was created to introduce you to a magnificent road with many monuments that meet.
The park of Aqueduct is a tale of the history of water in Rome and related engineering works, in fact six ancient Roman aqueducts converge here.
You will ride a top-notch e-bike on a smooth 2,300-year-old meadow and relive the history of the great empire, crossing a unique landscape full of ancient footprints, imperial mansions, statues and tombs. A is a very emotional bike tour.
If you choose the 5-hour tour you will also visit the Catacombs of San Callisto and have a food break in Aqueducts Park tasting the roman specialties that you will find in your lunch box. In the afternoon there will be a tasty Aperitif to replace the lunch box

This was such a great choice for my family of four, with two teens. Nico was our guide and he was excellent! The fact that he has studied history and loves all of the stories made it more exciting to hear along the stops and he was able to answer all of our questions. We road outside of the city walls into the country, into the Vatican, past amazing aqua duct ruins, and it was the perfect break from the crowds. There were two other nice people with us so it was small and very manageable. We did this on our 2nd day, which worked for us- but there are pros and cons to when you go. Unless you bike all the time, you will be sore for a day. Loved this adventure, thank you!

Daniela was our guide and now she is a friend! She led the most wonderful, experiential tour you can imagine. She took am interest in our interests and answered all our questions. She also went above and beyond to make it accessible- even when a team member had a challenge with their cycle. Seriously the greatest thing we did on our Rome trip.

We booked this tour on a whim but it turned out to be one of our best Rome experiences. Guide Valerio was friendly and funny as he shared the information about the area. It was my first time on an E-Bike but I got the hang of it fast and I may never go back :) The stop at the Catacombs was as sobering and somber as it should be. If you’re claustrophobic you might want to make sure your group is small as the corridors and chambers are quite narrow and small. Lunch was at a picturesque spot and our group almost “swam” in the water fountain because it was so cool on a very hot day.

The group was very large and had only one guide. She tried her best but couldn’t keep the group together. We would pedal for 5 mins and then stop to regroup for 15 then repeat the process. The ride had several inexperienced people on bikes and one person hit a car (fortunately he was ok). This resulted in the whole group having to wait 45 mins while the accident was documented. The 4 hour tour lasted closer to 6 hours due to all the delays associated with such a large group.

Or first time in Rome, and our first day, and we were running late and they so graciously waited. Mattia guided us along the ancient streets and’s he was very knowledgeable of the history and very engaging. Due to the heat he was also sure to stop frequently to allow us to freshen up in the fresh water the flows throughout Rome. The e-bikes were wonderful and easy to operate. There was a couple with a young son in our group and Mattia was sure to include him in the short talks so he felt engaged. I will say that riding through the urban area of Rome isn’t for the faint of heart and we were lead well. Highly recommended!

Our second best adventure in Roma!!! We loved everything about this tour. My fellow travelers were unfamiliar with e-bikes and somewhat apprehensive at first - until that first rotation of the pedal and then it was off to the races! Super, low effort, fun bike ride through the city, out to the Appian way, to the Catacombs, to a lovely lunch at a local cafe, on to Aqueduct Park, by the Roman Wall, and back into the city. Truly a delightful time every minute of our tour. Our tour guide was enthusiastic, patient, knowledgeable, entertaining, funny, and he took great care to ensure our comfort and safety on the bikes. Riding along and encountering the majesty of the aqueducts is a memory for a lifetime! We covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time due to the efficiency of the bike and it was a true pleasure to get out of Rome central and see the neighboring countryside beauty and local way of life. The tour also provided a nice breeze throughout and a respite from the city heat. Every moment was spectacular and special, made more so by our fantastic guide!

Our family of 5 had so much fun on this tour! Our guide was excellent, informative and fun. My bike wasn’t working at first, but our guide fixed it quickly, which made a HUGE difference. We are all experienced cyclists, which I think is helpful as there is some navigating through city streets, but our guide did such a great job that I think everyone always felt comfortable and safe.
The catacombs were so interesting (just a heads up - my daughter did get dress-coded in the gift shop, which was strange as no one said anything to anyone while going through the catacombs themselves, but maybe just be aware… she was dressed for a long, hot day of cycling). Biking along the Appian Way and the aqueducts were amazing, as well. The lunch provided was focaccia bread and water, but we stopped where there were a few cafes and restaurants if people wanted drinks/other options, which was fine. Super fun day, highly recommend!

We had a great time on this trip on the Appian Way. Daniela was a fabulous guide. She gave us so much interesting historical context to go with the ruins we were seeing. The Appian way is beautiful and full of villas, ruins, mausoleums, aqueducts, etc. So nice to get out of the city for a day. Having an eBike gives you a chance to see so much in 5 hours. Highly recommended.
