Great boat trip along the shore of the Dingle Peninsula, out to Great Blasket for a few hours and on to the outer Blasket Islands. Thousands of seabirds, hundreds of Seal and dozens of Common Dolphins, as well as great views of the coast, islands and wonderful rock formations. Skipper Billy and his father-in-law Chris were great, very helpful and knowledgeable. In particular helping my 88 year old mother with genuine kindness and patience. Thank you very much!

I took a group of 10 on the Tour as part of a wellbeing and yoga retreat. The aim was to connect with nature and especially larger wildlife and the ocean in order to have a deep sense of connectivity with the planet.
This trip surpassed all expectations.
The group were completely blown away by the island, it’s purity, it’s beauty and the seal colony there.
The boat trip was wonderful and both Billy and Chris were extremely knowledgeable; they could describe rock formations extensively following on from geologists who had been on the tour.
The pods of dolphins came right up to us and we spent a lot of time watching young with their mothers.
It really was extraordinary and completely captivating.
I cannot recommend this tour enough.
Because we had the boat to ourselves everyone felt very much at ease.
We swam in the ocean off the island, picnicked there, took the OPW Tour and even had cups of tea from the Caife!
What a day!

Sehr engagierter Veranstalter. Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

The boat captain, Billy, and the first mate, Chris, both made us feel welcome and confident they would do all in their power to ensure we fully enjoyed our trip. They explained how we would get to our destination, Great Blasket Island, and what to expect as far as water and weather. Then the tour commenced.

They described the history of Dingle and the bay as we headed out. Then we stopped outside the bay to see us some unusual geological features and caves in the cliffs. They discussed the wildlife we could expect to see during the day and we did see an assortment of seabirds, several dolphins and a large pod of gray seals.

Once at Great Blasket Island we were given vouchers for a beverage on the island and a map describing the trails and buildings. Chris gave us an overview of what trails would be most appropriate for each level of hiker/walker and he told us where to meet up with a free guide, as well as where to find the cafe and bathrooms.

We had several hours to listen to the guide’s presentation about the history of the former residents and to explore. The weather was warm and sunny and we had a wonderful day watching sheep, walking the trails, gazing over the cliffs, admiring the view of islands around us and seal watching.

On the return trip Billy and Chris took us to the best spots to see puffins, cormorants and other seabirds and, eventually, to see a pod of 50 or more feeding dolphins. They were great fun to watch. They arched out of the water in threes and fours, diving for food, passing under the boat and swimming all around is, zig-zagging back and forth.

Finally, we were taken to a jagged island created by an ancient volcanic eruption millennia ago.

This was a great trip with an awesome crew. My husband and I would do this again and I heartily recommend the trip to others!

Professional company from start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed my day with The Great Blasket Island Experience. The boat trip out was comfortable with a small group and getting to see a pod of common dolphins was extra special. It was drizzling when we landed on the island and then the sun came out and just wow! What a beautiful place. I did the 90min loop walk (stunning), walked down to the beach and observed the seals from a distance (stunning) then explored some of the ruins. The views are something else! After 3.5hrs exploring we all met back at the pier and were driven back to the main land via a few of the other islands while given lots of information. Thank you Alice, Billy and Chris for being so nice and friendly sharing all your knowledge. After 7 years of wanting to see the Great Blasket I will definitely be back and will stay a bit longer next time. :)

Excellent trip with guides who were knowledgeable about the wildlife on the island and in surrounding waters. The guides were particularly thorough in seeking out local wildlife on both incoming and outgoing trips. The walk around the island was stunning and relatively easy walking. The guides took great care in explaining the safest way to get on and off the main boat and also the rubber raft that took us to the shore and back to the main boat. We would thoroughly recommend the trip.

We had the most wonderful time on our Great Blasket Experience. My husband isn't a big fan of being on the water, so he comfortably sat inside while I enjoyed the open back. Both Chris and Billy were full of great information and really engaging; while Wolfie, their dog guide, was a fan favorite. He runs from side to side of the boat and seems to be a good guide for when dolphins are near. We saw multiple dolphins and went in a sea cave all before reaching Blasket. On the island, we had the perfect amount of time to hike to the beach to see the seals, enjoy the guided tour of the buildings, and do the 4km hike around the island. Then on the ride back we went to the further islands and saw puffins! It was a beautiful way to spend a day.
