It was amazing to have a night walk in the bush and listen to different stories about locals, animals, and plants! I saw wallabies, glowworms, and the Milky Way! I highly recommend this tour

Our tour guide, Steven, knew so many interesting facts about the constellations, the flora and fauna and forest critters in addition to the little glow worms. The time just flew by. He was consistently mindful of the safety of every person on our tour, keeping us aware of the trail conditions and possible stumbling hazards. We really enjoyed learning about and seeing the magic of those little creatures. We quickly caught his enthusiasm for their intriguing abilities.

It was amazing night bush walk with glowworms, wallabies, possums and Milky Way.
Stephen explained a lot of stories about planets, animals, native land, culture and people.

A really unique and cool experience. Our guide, Stephen, pick up in a bus to head out to a more remote part of the forest with absolutely beautiful view of the stars at night. From there everyone gets multiple flashlights (torches) and you're off into the woods where Stephen has an abundance of local knowledge of all of the different plants, animals, and insects, keeping an eye out for the most interesting and letting you experience them firsthand. At night this is a unique experience where you see things you could never see during the day. The highlight of course is the glow worms of which there were thousands and absolutely stunning to see and walk up to at night, but all of the things we saw were amazing!
It was mildly disconcerting to be driven out to the woods at night since we were the only two on the tour during the slow season is the one thing I will call out. That said we got comfortable with Stephen quickly and it was a lot of fun from there.

Stephen took us on a wonderful nocturnal glow worm adventure tour on 8th June. Stephen's knowledge of the forest, the flora & fauna of the forest combined with his knowledge of the local culture was simply amazing.
Stephen has an awful lot of different types of torches for different uses in the forest.
Above these, Stephen was such a gentleman and made the tour very memorable for us.
We recommend Real Rotorua Glow Worms tour 100%.

It was incredible. Our guide was passionate, knowledgable, and welcoming. He pointed out so many interesting things and helped us take amazing photos! We would highly recommend this over the other glow worm tours, especially if you want to see the worms up close and take time to observe them. This was truly a magical experience.

This was a real highlight of our trip to NZ from the States. Stephen was recommended by our Airbnb hosts and we could not have been happier with the experience. We not only learned about glow worms, but as we walked through the forest, he pointed out so many things that the average person would not have known or noticed. I appreciated his concern that we all had a good experience, learned something, and got amazing photos. The small group size (only 5 the night we went) made for a very personalized experience.

Really unique evening. We had a great time and learned a lot. Appreciated the fact that, although the glow worms were absolutely the highlight, we learned about some of the vegetation, insects, and other animals along the way.

I really enjoyed this experience, very different from anything I had done before. It was well organised, the drive was only about half an hour and we arrived. Stephen was knowledgeable and pointed out plants and animal life as we went depending on what was there and of course the glow worms! We also were set up with a couple of photo opportunities which I thought was a nice touch. The weather was great and all in all a magical different experience to go through a forest at night. The trail is easy and flat but there are a few rough bits. You need to carry a torch in at least one hand so hiking pole wouldn’t advise personally.
