Your knowledgeable guide takes you to Greyfriar's Kirkyard, home of the famous Greyfriar's Bobby – nice dog – who had cocked his leg where rotting corpses lay below and whose names were made famous in many novels and history books, sending chills down many a reader's spine.
Then on to the infamous and haunted Niddry Street underground vaults, most haunted place in Edinburgh and probably one of the scariest in the world! Once home to the destitute, prostitutes, criminals, witches and a hell-fire club, and is possessed by something evil that awaits you

Fun tour. Wished it was a bit longer. Didn’t see much but a dark storm cellar. Guide was good. It was a little bit of a sketchy place at the end to have to walk back to hotel on your own.

Really interesting walk around the graveyard and underground vaults. Our guide Stuart was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of Edinburgh and the old town and made the experience very enjoyable. 😃 If you are going to do a tour, I would strongly recommend this one.

Had a grand time listening to my friends scream twice on when tour guide scared her during the visit to the vaults. Wonderful storytelling, and interesting facts. I had a great time!

Had a great time. Jordan was a wonderful guide. Educational and entertaining. Definitely recommend. Lots of steps, so you have to be able to climb stairs.

James was / is a wonderful guide. Yet Auld Reekie advertising materials often portray their guides in costume. It would have added a lot of ambiance were our guide in costume, which he was not. While it was mentioned in Greyfriars's Kirk, we did not visit it... but I would have liked to see Tom Riddle's grave site. My only other suggestion is that he slow down just a bit. But his knowledge and enthusiasm were contagious and we really enjoyed his tour!

Ally the tour guide was friendly and informative! A big group but she kept everyone together and added some spookiness to both the graveyard and vaults. Wonderful experience!

We really enjoyed our tour with Ally. We saw parts of Edinburgh and learned things that would not have been possible without this tour. Ally was an excellent story teller who struck a very good balance between story, history, and the technique that can build towards a scary experience. One of the best parts of the tour is simply being able to enter the vaults and gain a better understanding of the architecture that sits beneath the streets and bridges in Edinburgh's old town. I'd recommend this tour but would note that I believe the group exceeded 30, which was not a problem thanks to Ally's ability to speak clearly and project her voice... she also did a fine job of corralling us throughout. Thanks!
