Livorno is the port of Tuscany. If you decide to stay you could discover a very lively city, born as a welcoming port for foreigner communities thanks to the Medici. A different city from the rest of Tuscany but with an interesting history being a free port in its past.
We will start from Piazza del Municipio, the dropping point for all the shuttle busses coming from the harbour. With a short walk you will see how open minded was the Medici vision in creating their cities but even the great effort we made to rebuilt our historical memories: for example the Synagogue temple, totally rebuilt after WWII, We will see the Medici Harbour, the Old Fortress and the local fish market. And the oldest district “La Venezia” with its channels and buildings, named like the real one.
The final stops will be via della Madonna known as the street of the three churches (Armenian, Greek and catholic) and the local Food Market.
