Our shared 1 day trip to Essaouira is a great way to escape big cities, relax at the beautiful Atlantic coast and artistic boho cafes.
Known as the ‘small fortress’ in the Tamazight language, Essaouira is an exceptional example of a late 18th-century fortified town listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Home to traditional Gnawa music and argan oil, the town is also an example of a multicultural centre as proven by the coexistence of diverse religious ethnic groups, such as the Amazighs, Arabs, Africans and Europeans.
Today is known for Jimi Hendrix's favourite spot, Essaouira’s hippy and laid back vibe with its artistic touch attract travellers from around the world. Essaouira is also famous for surfing, film sets (Games of Thrones, John Wick) as well as cuisine. Fresh Atlantic fish and seafood at the local restaurants is a must-do when visiting Essaouira.
