We start with its history and explore the development of Italian painting from the very beginning: Giotto, Cimabue and early pre-Renaissance painting. The High Renaissance is represented by works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. We also examine their followers: Andrea del Sarto, Rosso Fiorentino, Bronzino and Pontormo.
