This market is the biggest local market in Chiang Mai where lots of Thai locals do their shopping. After that, we hop on a pedal-powered trishaw (Samlor) head to explore the centre of old town and visit Tapae Gate, the main entrance to the old walled city. Then, we visit the Three Kings Monument and walk to Pantao Temple which is the teak Lanna viharn. It is constructed of moulded teak panels and supported by giant teak pillars. Inside the temple contains temple bells, ceramics, wooden Buddha & manuscripts. Following this, we continue to Chedi Luang Temple (The temple of the Great Stupa) which is an impressive monument that once housed the country’s famed Emerald Buddha. Also on the temple grounds is the city pillar (Lak Mueang) of Chiang Mai. We return back to Hotel by a Red Car, a local transportation in Chiang Mai.
