Alaska, also known as the Land of the Midnight Sun, is located off the northwestern part of the North American Continent. Yukon, a Canadian territory, is nearby, bordering the state to the east. Alaska is currently ranked 1st among the United States for area of a state, coming in at 1,717,854 square kilometres. Alaska has a population of 731,449 people.
Diverse terrain and abundant wildlife make Alaska one of the most pristine environments left on earth. With high snow-capped mountains, a belt of volcanic islands, untouched expanses of evergreen forests, plenty of rivers and lakes, and beautiful winter snows, its not surprising why so many people decide to never leave Alaska. Theres no place like it on Earth.
Alaska is home to many fishing spots, open to humans and animals alike. Halibut is abundant all around Alaska, being a target for trade. Because of its natural beauty, Alaska is a popular destination for cruises. It has many parks to hike at, including Buskin River State Park, Denali National Park, and Glacier Bay National Park.
