Massachusetts, known as The Bay State, is in the northeastern region of the United States. It has a population of 6.6 million Bay Staters and has a total area of 27,336 square kilometres and is one of the smallest states. The largest city and capital of Massachusetts is Boston, but Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, Cambridge are other large cities.
Massachusetts has varied terrain including valleys and plains, the Berkshire Mountains, and the beaches of Cape Cod. Rural towns sitting atop the rolling hills have some of the best scenery the nation has to offer. Much of the western portion of the state is forests that are solely interrupted by lakes and ponds. There are twelve national historic sites, as well as a number of parks, trails, and beaches that are perfect for hiking, tanning, and taking fantastic photographs.
Youll be hooked from your first escapade at Boston Duck Tours, and go on to explore The Freedom Trail, Cape Cod, Fenway Park, Nantucket, the New England Aquarium, the Worcester Art Museum, and Harvard University. No visit to Massachusetts is complete without a boating tour of the bays and tours are available.
