New Mexico is a southwestern state in the United States. With a land mass of 315,194 square kilometres, which makes it the 5th largest state. Despite its size, it is only the 36th most populous state. The state capital is Santa Fe and the largest city is Albuquerque. Las Cruces and Rio Rancho are also highly populated cities.
Considered a Mountain State, much of the state is highly forested mountain wilderness, especially in northern parts of the state. New Mexico offers a unique environment to explore that includes the Rocky Mountains, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and many desert area. The many awesome rock formations that jut out of the Great Plains are some of the largest of their kind.
Amazing landscapes are not all New Mexico has to offer, the Land of Enchantment also has: the White Sands National Monument, the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the Bandelier National Monument, a museum dedicated to Georgia OKeeffe, the extensive and famous Carlsbad Caverns National Park, an International UFO Museum, a Museum of Natural History and Science, the Western Playland Amusement Park, and the Sandia Peak Ski and Tramway.
