Virginia, also known as the Mother of States, is a state in the South Atlantic area of the United States. It has a population of 8.2 million Virginians and has a total area of 110,785 square kilometres. Virginias largest city is Virginia Beach while its capital is Richmond. Other large cities include Norfolk, Chesapeake, Richmond, Arlington Newport News, Alexandria, and Hampton.
Virginias terrain is multi varied and is made up of mountains in the west which roll into foothills, plains and plateaus in the central portion of the state, rivers running out of the Appalachians, several bays in the northeast, and basins with outcrops perfect for photo opportunities. The mountains make for great for skiing, and the rivers offer excellent rapids. This state also has about 4,000 caves, especially in the broad Shenandoah Valley.
Virginia has great beaches, including Virginia Beach, and the northeastern bays are great for sailing. Other interesting spots include: Colonial Williamsburg, Arlington National Cemetery, Busch Gardens, The Natural Bridge, Manassas National Battlefield Park, Thomas Jeffersons Monticello, George Washingtons Mount Vernon, Shenandoah National Park, and Richmond Canal Walk.
Virginia is a great representation of what America is all about and as one can see has a little of everything.
