Over 20 million people travel in and out of the Dublin Airport every year. The airport is the main airport for the city of Dublin, and is located 10 kilometres to the north of the city. The IATA code for the airport is DUB. It is the busiest airport in the state based on both passenger numbers, and the total number of aircraft movements, with Belfast International Airport coming in a close second.
The airport is the home for Ireland's signature airline, Aer Lingus. Other local carriers include CityJet, Ryanair, Air Contractors and Stobart Air. Flights are also available to some international destinations such as the Middle East and the USA. The airport also has US preclearance facilities, which only it and one other airport in all of Europe have.
There are two terminals that make up the airport, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal one is used predominately for short haul or domestic services, and Terminal 2 is mainly for long haul or international flights.
